Just an observation

Is it me or has America become a more aggressive society ? Working in the retail industry I see hundreds of people every day. The majority of them are not smiling but have a rather determined look to them. This is especially true among the younger crowd. It is more of an attitude I think than physical aggression. In general they are far more vocal about their dislikes.
Consider this. Baseball was/is the national pastime. It was always well attended and young boys looked there for heroes. Now,though unofficial, its' football. Definitely a difference in attitude and aggression. Also now we have mixed martial arts where men fight in a cage while we cheer. Remind you of anything ?
The national standard on morality is quite a bit different than it was a few decades ago as well. Its' all about tolerance and understanding. Taxes are high everywhere and our infrastructure is beginning to decay.
We are waging war in several places at once. The country is being overrun with outsiders.
I am by no means a historian but only a brief read of Roman history shows interesting parallels. Are we going the way of the Romans ? No,I don't believe that because we are a democracy and changes can be made.
I think the country as a whole needs to take a chill pill. Relax a little and look at things logically. An old adage comes to mind.  You can't please all of the people all of the time.
Smile, relax and be kind to your fellow man. Honey catches more flies than vinegar !
