compliance

Today is the 6th. As we all are well aware it is a day that will be spent decrying the insurrection! That is the most frequently used term to describe what happened on that day. It is another opportunity for the Democrats to pick at an open wound and foster more division. I'm certain not a moment of it will be lost. The investigation continues, accusations made and the band plays on.
I will in no way attempt to justify what happened. I will say I know what happened. A large group of people assembled upset by the election results as reported. The feeling was, the election results were less than believable, less than trustworthy. Mob mentality ensued. That's what happened. There was no plan to overthrow the government, no plan to make Trump a dictator. None of that! To believe otherwise is just foolish. The whole issue was election integrity.
It has been reported that over 700 arrests have been made. It is also being explained that some are being charged with more serious crimes than others. Well because if you are an insurrectionist, it does depend upon how just how much insurrection you support. It's like being a traitor I suppose, just how much of a traitor are you? Or a liar, just how much did you lie? Yeah, that must be how that works. If you are only a little guilty that's okay. The Shaman dude is in jail. Well, pretty easy to identify him I'd say.
I do have to question why all the other riots that have taken place in the past few years are portrayed as social justice. Remember when an entire city block was occupied? Remember when over 500 thousand dollars in damage was done in Portland and the police just stood by and watched? That was their orders, just stand by. Weeks later no arrests were made, it was just the people effecting social justice. The moment a single person stepped onto the capital however, it's an insurrection! Not a riot, not a cry for social justice, it's an insurrection. Over 700 arrests. A year of investigations with more to follow. More fencing, more security.
Now since that happened what actions have been taken to address the root cause? I haven't heard of a single one. What was the root cause? Voter integrity. Oh, you heard some reports about voting machines, recounts, and that sort of thing. Have you heard of anything that caused you to gain confidence in the system? I certainly haven't. I have heard where some local governments are going to allow illegals to vote, because they should be represented. Yeah, a green card should do. But what have you heard about voter ID? What have you heard about verifying anything? I have heard about redistricting plans, to make the election better. The politicians shuffling the cups once again, under what cup is the magic ball?
The underlining message in all of this is compliance. We are expected to blindly accept whatever results are reported. No matter that the process seems to be rife with fraud. Now I'm not saying that it is, but that is certainly the perception. Perception is often stronger than reality! That is just a simple truth. Usually, we just say the person is delusional when their perception is contrary to the facts. If we are to move forward from this, we must present clear and credible legislation that the vote is being secured. Note the party in power adamantly declares that the voting was 100% legit. In fact, to even suggest otherwise is a conspiracy theory! Had the other party won, I strongly suspect the result, and the reaction would have been the same.
Today the message is about compliance. That is what will be promoted on this anniversary. Accept whatever results are offered without question. If you do not accept that you will be punished. Does the word mandate pop to mind? It should. Notice how the narrative is always about Democracy? What is Democracy? A simple rule by the majority. It's where the 51 can impose their will upon the 49. That is why we have a constitutional republic, not a democracy. In a democracy if the 51 decide they want your bicycle, they can just take your bicycle. If the 51 decide they want you injected with a substance, you get injected! That's a democracy. A Constitutional Republic however doesn't work like that. The rights of an individual are protected! Read the first ten amendments to the Constitution if you are confused about that. The other 17 amendments give power to the congress, think about that.
I remain hopeful for a convention of the states. In my opinion it is the only way we are going to restore faith in government. Congress has no control over a convention of the states. Should, we the people, decide to institute voter ID, that will be the law! Should we the people decide that those crossing the border without following proper procedure are illegals, they are illegals! Should we the people decide to tie a balanced budget to lawmakers holding office, we can do that as well! We don't need a civil war, the founding fathers provided a means to avoid that, article five US Constitution. Did you know there was never a Federal Law legalizing slavery? That was always on a state by state basis. Perhaps if it had been, a convention of the states could have abolished the practice altogether, and no civil war would have taken place. You know, if the southern plantation owners had just complied.
When Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation it only applied to the southern states, there were northern states that still allowed the holding of slaves. Is that why Lincoln only attempted to apply a "mandate" to the south? At that point he certainly had no legal authority over the south. Remember, they had seceded from the union. It wasn't until Jan 31, 1865 that slavery became illegal on a federal level, in every state.
But all of that is history. It is all about compliance with authority. In the beginning we no longer wanted to comply with British rule. We rebelled and gained independence. (It was an insurrection) The British attempted to regain their territory in 1812 and we defeated them once again. In 1861 the southern plantation owners became concerned with profits. If their slaves were taken away and they were made to pay the help, gasp, a wage, that would certainly cut into the bottom line. They rebelled. There would be no law saying they couldn't have slaves! They would not comply. A civil war ensued. Since then we have all pretty much complied with whatever came along. But today, in this time, election results are being questioned. Confidence is lost in the process. Add in a pandemic, add in government mandates, add in inflation. Keep stirring the pot and perhaps government rule can be strengthened. Not by insurrection, but by law! Congress makes law, not the Supreme Court, not the Executive branch. We the people control the congress! A convention of the states is that vehicle. It's time.
