conditional independence

   Yesterday the CDC made the big announcement. If you are fully vaccinated you can go outside without a mask! That was announced as a big step forward, bringing us closer to the Fourth of July, Independence Day. That's the new goal, independence. Well, you can join in as long as you comply, a sort of conditional independence. It's no longer Liberty for All, now it will be liberty for those who comply with Dr. Faucci and the CDC. If you are not fully vaccinated, and fully can mean three of more injections, you are still required to wear the mask. I see that rule as no different than being forced to wear the scarlet letter only this time it's the scarlet mask! It's sole purpose is to inform those around you about your private medical choices. I recall a time in America when your medical record was private. It was protected information and now I'm supposed to advertise my condition or lack of it? The president generally implying I wouldn't be patriotic unless I comply. You must be loyal to the political party, do as they instruct or you are against them! You must get vaccinated to regain your freedom! You will not be required to show proof of eligibility to vote for that party though. 

  Now I often hear the reason for all of that is to protect innocent lives. Those that aren't vaccinated could catch the virus from you. Strangely the same people so concerned with other lives fully support the whole abortion thing, that's fine, that's a choice. It's not a choice however if I choose not to be injected with some concoction that is reputed to give me immunity, or at least make me less likely to die from a virus, that is morphing every day, no choice in that though. I'm being directed to, just trust the science. That same science has known about a coronavirus for hundreds of years and still there is no effective vaccine against it, it's called the common cold! But, yeah I'm trusting science on this one alright. Well on the plus side I guess the mere mention of covid 19 has all but made the seasonal flu disappear, the science of that is what?

  But yesterday we were promised more freedom. Many are excited about that, like puppies getting a treat, thank you. We were warned though, non compliance and we will have that right taken away! Yes it is conditional. The government will decide when you can have freedom, don't be getting any foolish notion that you have a say in that. They took it away before and will do so again! It'll be easier next time, promise the people another stimulus check and they will go along peacefully.  Already there are thousands of people refusing to go back to work having had a taste of dependence, and liking that. Money for nothing, Just do as you are told and you will receive your allowance. For a while anyway, until the government gains full control over all of that. In Germany the party was called the National Socialist German Workers. Their goals were the same as what we are hearing today. It'll be wonderful, everyone gets their share. And it was working too, until the government seized all the power and started making all the decisions. It was at that point they became known as Nazi's. Anyone opposing was eliminated. Freedom was conditional! Comply with the government mandates or be eliminated. Yes, it was a promise of prosperity, of fair and equal treatment that led so many to back the idea of Socialism. That has always been the promise of socialism and it has failed every single time. Trust the science. Political science. Socialism never works and never will. That's simply because socialism relies on compliance, not independent thought. If you want to excel you have to be better than others, not equal. Stinks if you aren't the others. But, you can be equally miserable, equally dependent upon the government, so there's that.
