Just how desperate are the Democrats getting in their attempt to remain in power? President Biden speaking yesterday announced he would support releasing everyone convicted of breaking the law. My point here is simple, if something was illegal yesterday, but is legalized today, it was still illegal yesterday! You still broke the law and are accountable for that. That's my feeling about all of that. But my feeling about this statement is that it is nothing, but a desperate, pandering statement designed to garner votes. Loan forgiveness, free money, and now release from prison, all charges dropped. An open border flooding the country with more dependents along with the promises that they will be able to vote in our elections, no citizenship required, designed to do what? Get votes! That is the sole purpose. There is no way anyone can justify any of this as a "good" thing for America.
If the federal government wants to remove a substance from the CDS listing that is one thing. I'm certain there is some protocol, some method in place to do that. Below are the items considered when placing or removing substances from that list:
(1) Its actual or relative potential for abuse.
(2) Scientific evidence of its pharmacological effect, if known.(3) The state of current scientific knowledge regarding the drug or other substance.
(4) Its history and current pattern of abuse.
(5) The scope, duration, and significance of abuse.
(6) What, if any, risk there is to the public health.
(7) Its psychic or physiological dependence liability.
(8) Whether the substance is an immediate precursor of a substance already controlled under this subchapter.
Just about anyone can petition the DEA to have an item added or removed. There is no statute saying the President can do that by executive order or proclamation. There has been no petition issued by any agency to have that done. But, even if there were, even if they did, even if it was subsequently removed from the list, it remains illegal prior to that happening and a punishable offense. The only substances that have been removed from that list are ones shown to have a legitimate medical use. Getting high to reduce stress is not a genuine medical use any more than getting drunk! As far as its' dependence, several states have earmarked revenue generated by the sale of pot to rehabilitation centers for the treatment of dependence upon that drug. Yes, it is physiologically additive to some, same as alcohol, chocolate or pumpkin spice lattes!
Look all I'm saying here is if the government decides to remove pot from the list, the government decides to remove pot from the list. I don't really have a vote in all of that. I know, it's on the ballot. No, it is not! What is on the ballot is this, do you vote for your state to ignore federal law? That's the real question. No state may make a law in contradiction to federal law. Read the Supremacy clause if you don't understand that. We are being told to "trust the science" repeatedly, even being coerced, forced, and penalized if we fail to comply. But we are also supposed to just "vote" on the science in this instance. The DEA and all the medical professionals involved in placing substances on that list are to be ignored, we the people should just vote on that. If we want to smoke dope, we should smoke dope.
So, when "building back better" we will all vote on whether our individual states, and/or municipalities, will comply with federal law. That will be better? Everyone gets to just do their own thing. Can't get an abortion in this state, go to that state. Break the law in this state, but it's fine in that state. Not only that but the President, by executive order, can simply pardon everyone that broke the law whenever he doesn't agree with that law. If that will get the votes, that'll be just fine. We will allow the ones that are dependent, the ones that are producing the least, and demanding the most from government, to make the rules. That should certainly "build back better" Building back better means, you don't have to change the law, just vote to ignore the law. There, that's better. No need to bother Congress with any of this. Just because Congress is the body that makes the laws, that doesn't mean they should have a say whether it is enforced or not. We'll just take a vote on that. While we are at it maybe we should just abolish Congress altogether, you know just vote on everything directly. We don't need representatives anymore; we have social media! We are the experts and scientists now. Yup, that's better aright.
And so, just a question:
ReplyDeletehow do you feel about the Republican party breaking all the laws that they have? I don't believe in legalizing abortion or marijuana either, by the way.
