Sounding the same

I went to the new playground with my granddaughter last evening. I took the video camera along. It was a beautiful evening, not too hot and a nice breeze. Morgan loves taking pictures or videos, especially of herself. I think we all go through that phase. At any rate she was taping herself doing all sorts of things. Funny how I still feel compelled to say " tape " even when it is a digital thing. What should I be saying ? Recording ? Capturing a digital image ? Filming ? I don't know I'll probably just keep saying taping.
When we got home I downloaded those captured digital images to my home computer. After they were downloaded they were processed. It was then that we got to view them. They are all pretty silly, as I expected they would be, but considering the cost it was well worth it. That is the real beauty of this new technology, you can afford to just record or take pictures of anything at all. I sat with Morgan and reviewed them. She was having a great time immediately reliving being at the park. Isn't that another curious thing ? We all like to look at our pictures as soon as possible. We may have just taken the shot less than a minute ago and we want to see it. I remember having to wait for days.
As I watched and listened to these videos I was struck by how Morgan sounds. We all know we sound differently when recorded. We never sound the way we think we sound. The voice I hear in my head isn't what is on tape ! With Morgan I find her voice to be pleasant when recorded. I do not mean to say that it is not also pleasant in person, just that it records well. I did post one of her silly videos to Facebook where you can check it out. This " discovery " lead me to wonder if maybe she couldn't have a career in television or radio. I would think that the way your voice records would be of paramount importance. I can not think of anyone I know personalty that has a job that requires having their voice recorded. I wonder if their " in person voice " sounds differently than there recorded voice ? I will have to start recording more people that I know and compare. What do you think ? Does your voice record well ? I think I sound terrible. What about those you know ?
