you ain't right

Anthony Brown is the state's attorney for Maryland. Baltimore, along with all the other major democratically controlled cities in America, has a very high rate of crime. Homicides, robberies, car theft and a good number of them involving the use of handguns. Popularly called gun violence. The guns are causing the violence! In response to that Anthony Brown is now proposing legislation to hold gun manufacturers responsible for that. The use and possession of an illegal firearm would now be the fault of the manufacturer. If you were affected by any of that you could sue whoever made the gun! That is his idea of gun control legislation.
So, the attorney general, a man that has attended law school, passed the bar for the state of Maryland, former congressman and lieutenant governor has this plan. Just sue the gun manufacturers for the misuse and abuse of their product. Really, that is what he is proposing. I can't wait to sue Ford or Chevy because I got a parking ticket, or a speeding ticket, or I steal a car. It's their fault, they made the product! By that reasoning I can sue the parents of anyone that does anything wrong, hey they made them! It's clearly the fault of the manufacturer.
It's important to note this is the same administration that is proposing no one under the age of 25 should be held criminally responsible for anything, especially felony murder! The brain isn't fully developed! That's the science and we have to trust the science. Sure, you can get a drivers license, join the military, get married, have children, all of that and much more, but that doesn't mean you know what you're doing! If you are in kindergarten, you can tell your parents what gender you are, the school has to ensure the pronoun of your six year old choice is used, but you can change all that any time, as many times as you want until you are 25. Yeah, that makes sense.
You see, because your brain isn't fully developed, then you misuse a handgun and commit a murder, it isn't your fault. The fault lies with Samuael Colt or Remington Arms. Really the fault lies with the Chinese people. If they hadn't invented gunpowder, we wouldn't have guns. The scientists have determined that being in prison can change your thinking. Yes, scientists have determined that being in prison can leave you with PTSD. No kidding? We needed a neuroscientist to figure that out! Wasn't that the point of being "scared straight?" Nothing like a little bit of trauma to get your attention. It's what my parents called getting a whoopin". Got my attention and it certainly effected my thinking. Didn't take me long to figure out that it was the result of my choices! If I didn't do that, I didn't get traumatized. The fault lies with me, not with what anyone else was doing or saying. That spitball didn't fly out of that Bic pen on its' own.
It isn't going to change anytime soon but it can be changed. We need to start with developing those brains when they are toddlers. You begin by allowing children to be children, and then correcting those childish behaviors. Let them know make believe is alright, it's fun to pretend, but it is make believe. We shouldn't be telling our children that they get to decide what is real and what is not. We need to immediately correct their behaviors. Blunt force trauma should be applied to their backsides when necessary. Remember their brains aren't fully developed yet. Sometimes their brains convince them to do the things they know to be wrong. Get their attention. Years ago, we didn't have ADD, it was well known that we weren't paying attention. It wasn't a disorder, it was normal for a kid. Our parents, teachers and other adults got your attention. It was to aid in your brain development. Get you right! The ones that didn't respond, got themselves into trouble, were told; you ain't right. And that is your fault, not mine.
