Thoughts and a dream

Here's a few thoughts. Listening to the news about Kevin Spacey. It was reported that he bought a guy drinks in a bar, then he grabbed this guy in his crotch. That happened two years ago. What I want to know is why didn't that guy punch Stacey in the face, two years ago! Everyone would have been in court back then because it would have been quite a brawl. I may not have won that fight but there would have been no doubt that behavior was " inappropriate." I don't care who you are, you do that to me, you're getting punched! And then you wait two years to file charges? What's up with that? Not that I care about Kevin Spacey but it all seems just a little strange to me. I hope if I get assaulted by a celebrity after drinking eight to ten drinks I have enough forethought and restraint to do nothing for two years. Pretty amazing isn't it?
Following that story it was reported Kevin Hart will not be hosting the Oscars. Now I admit I don't know who this Kevin Hart is, nor do I care. From what I understand he is an actor and comedienne. Apparently he made some jokes or tweets about gay people and you aren't supposed to do that. They were calling him homophobic. I have often wondered why they call folks homophobic. To have a phobia means you are afraid, or fear something specific. It is possible to disagree with something, not like it at all, but not fear it. Anti-gay I can understand but that's doesn't make that person homophobic! Guess I just get annoyed with these misnomers to make things sound better, or worse if you want to view it that way. Anyway, he went on the Ellen Degeneris show and she apparently " forgave " him. Now other gay people are saying he should be allowed to host the Oscars having apologized. Guess Ellen is their leader, whatever. Interesting how comics are allowed to say anything they want about other groups, politicians, soccer Moms, white folks, or whatever, but don't say anything about the LGBTQ community. Hey they comprise almost 3.5% of the population, they aren't different than you and I. And we all know you don't make fun of folks for being different. We also know, it's pretty funny to pick on those that are different. Funny how that works isn't it?
Stranger still, is it has been reported about 3.0% of the population are illegal immigrants. That's correct about 3.0%, and yet, there are many that support this wholeheartedly. Many say they should be welcomed, given housing, food, assistance, jobs, taught to speak our language and coddled like new born children. Mustn't say anything bad about that either or you are just prejudiced. You are most likely suffering from a phobia of some sort! You are afraid of these people. Don't be making jokes about it either! Well unless you are a Hispanic comedienne then you can make an entire sitcom about it:funny stuff. It is also acceptable to make a sitcom about white people moving into a black neighborhood. I haven't watched the show, looks funny to me in the previews, but I couldn't help but think, what if the roles were reversed. I'm thinking it wouldn't be on prime time television. Hypocrisy? Nah, not in Hollywood. Maybe in a couple years someone will file suit, you have to be patient with this stuff.
They say history repeats itself and I believe that to be true. I can't wait. Common sense and decency need to make a return. Aberrant behaviors should be identified as such, not as a choice. That's not to say those behaviors are wrong, just that those behaviors are not normal in the society in which you are living. Synonyms for aberrant include, deviant, divergent, abnormal, atypical, digressive, odd, peculiar and uncommon. I can't wait for the return of truth. Every time you continue to repeat bad behaviors that doesn't classify those behaviors as a disease. Addiction is caused by a choice you made. If you choose to abuse illegal drugs, consume alcohol continuously, and generally ruin your life, that was your choice, you didn't get a disease. Yes, yes, you can develop a physical dependence on a legally prescribed drug. You can also talk to your Doctor about that before it become a problem. It isn't like it is a surprise, I believe there are warnings and awareness enough about that. Of course that does require the return of personal accountability. I can't wait for that to become popular again.
Well these are just a few thoughts I had this morning while sipping my coffee. It's a habit, not an addiction. I can stop anytime I want to. Listening to the news is something I do every day as well. It's like a train wreck, I can't look away, although I'd be better off if I did. But I have " learned " one thing for certain. Justice in America means monetary compensation! That's it. Justice used to mean being fair and reasonable. Forget about that, just give me a structured settlement or an annuity! A large cash settlement is preferable though! That's why we have JG Wentworth, to facilitate justice. I pray that one day history will repeat itself and a people will once again believe in law and order. A people will form a UNITED country, pursuing a common goal. A day when once again their is Truth, Justice and the American way. And that can only happen when we are all Americans once again. Martin Luther King isn't the only one to have a dream you know?
