Raising awareness. It's the catch phrase of the decade. Every time someone wants to promote something they are calling it, raising awareness. So far the only thing I've become aware of is how ignorant so many people are. What are they raising awareness of? Mostly the common sense things of everyday life. It's a dangerous world out there, no kidding. Yes, you may contract a disease or illness from someone else. That's no reason to go around wearing a surgical mask on your face 24/7! The commercials on television are relentless in spreading paranoia about every known affliction to man. But they are just raising awareness. Well, maybe if the pharmaceutical companies and liberal democrats didn't have half the population on drugs, they would be aware. All this raising of awareness is mind numbing!
There is a minority segment of the population that holds different social and ethical values than the mainstream, we need to raise awareness of them. Why? The reasoning is we will make the abnormal, normal. The reality being, all those with a need to know, already know. It's my thinking we don't need recruitment posters for that stuff. I'm aware of what they are doing and I don't like it. I'm not saying we should do anything to stop it just we shouldn't do anything to promote it either. It isn't raising awareness it is simply drawing attention to themselves. The reason for that being insecurity and a bit of nervousness. When you are engaged in things that are a bit suspect, that is the feeling you will get.
The acquisition of knowledge should make you feel more secure in your person, not make you feel paranoid. But somehow that seems to be what is happening today. We are trying to prevent any thing negative from occurring. We must take precautions against every and any eventualities. Look at our automobiles as an example. We went from having seat belts to electronic collision avoidance systems! You aren't to be trusted in operating that vehicle. When I was born two vaccinations were recommended, today it is 15. Was that a result of raising awareness? No, we were all aware of the possibility of contracting something. That was a result of medical knowledge. But that knowledge has caused a sort of paranoia as well. We have to live as long as possible! Death is the ultimate paranoia, isn't it?
All this raising of awareness today is just a ruse. The objective is to convince you that you are wrong and the others are right. It's like you are being told secret knowledge or receiving some sort of insider information. That's the implication when that phrase is incorporated into the discussion. I'm going to raise your awareness so that you will agree with whatever cause or action I am promoting at this time. Set your own judgement aside, listen to me, raise your awareness of this situation and take action. The thing is, I'm aware of what you are trying to do, I'm aware of that. That's how I feel about all of that stuff. And all of those that oppose me will say, he just isn't aware. Well, when I'm not being called ignorant or something.
Now with all my blog postings and postings on Facebook I'm just trying to raise awareness. That's all it is. I'm just making others aware of my personal feelings, judgement and observations. I can't see where it has benefitted me in any substantive way, no financial gains or fame. But helping others become aware shouldn't require any reward, the awareness itself is enough. So I'm aware of that as well and will continue in this endeavor. I just want others to know, to be aware, that there are those that still believe in basic American values, a power higher than themselves and to be careful of democrats. I'm hoping that some will just pull their head out of the sand and take a good look around, become aware of their surroundings. If they do that, things will change, I'm certain of that. I haven't lost my faith in humanity, not yet anyway.
