Listening to a politician here in Maryland attempting to explain the current budget crisis. Our former Governor Larry Hogan left the state with a surplus of 5 billion dollars, while the current Governor Wes Moore has spent every dime of that and in fact has created a deficit. But, the politician defending that keeps using a single phrase, "we were coming out of Covid." That is supposed to explain everything. My question is, what does "coming out of covid" actually mean? With the recent confusion between jeans and genes in the news a call for clarity is required.
This is my opinion on what "coming out of covid" means. What it means is abandoning the Democrats and their policies of management. During Covid the American people were cajoled, restricted, punished, and controlled as much as possible to force compliance with the jab. The government had been involved in some "gain of function" research that got out of hand. Covid was the result of that. The scramble to cover that up, to deflect, to place blame elsewhere was immediate and forceful. The plan was simple enough, make things very difficult for the people, create a dependence on government.
That is the Democratic playbook, always has been. Remember; wear your mask, stay six foot away from each other, only essential workers are allowed, no large private gatherings allowed, close the churches and isolate yourself! Then there were the boosters! A whole string of them that continue to this day. The economic fallout from all of this is what "coming out of covid" is all about. The state of Maryland was doing great until once again a Democrat took office, then the money was spent, taxes and fess raised and a deficit created. We are back to "covid" but the rhetoric is, "coming out of covid." A crisis created by the Democrats.
It only took two years for Wes Moore to accomplish that. He began by telling everyone he was the "other" Wes Moore. There is a Wes Moore that is a convicted criminal from Baltimore and he was saying I'm not that guy. But, he said he grew up in Baltimore just a few blocks away from the "other" Wes Moore. That was a complete and utter lie. Still he wrote his book about that and campaigned on how even being black he overcame all the white supremacy, the living in the ghetto, resisited the crime in the streets and struggled and fought to become a great success. He is a Rhodes scholar! He promised all the "marginalized" voters he would take care of them. Yes, take care of them, you know provide them with free stuff.
He has done that, that's why there is now a deficit. Today he is busy going around the country laying the groundwork for a run at the Presidency. Don't forget he is also the guy claiming a military decoration he didn't earn. He claimed to have a Bronze star saying he earned that in Afghanistan. He didn't. What he did do is called "stolen valor" but he dismissed that with, my bad, I thought I had that. As a retired member of the Navy I can tell you for certain, if you are given an award, a citation or a medal you will know it! I don't have anything comparable to the bronze star but I have a stack of commendations in blue padded folders that were issued to me in a ceremony. May have only been the division officer awarding them, but I knew I got each one.
Now Moore has his lackeys blaming "coming out of covid" for everything that he has done. He has demonstrated his willingness to tell straight out lies to further himself. Caught in a lie he repeated hundreds of times his response was, sorry, I thought I was awarded the bronze star. I'm sorry I didn't check on that, my bad. He added five thousand state jobs! Big government requires big numbers. But his administration is "coming out of covid." Not his fault. He don't care, his plan is run for president, become the second black President in history. He'll just be laughing and lying all the way. And yeah, I don't like him. One thing I have noticed about those democrats, they are big on "coming out" of things. And it's usually something they created in the first place.
